Grand Theft Auto 4: Super Addendum FAQ!

Posted by zEro on April 29th, 2008

Don’t consider yourself poor or unfortunate for not having been able to play GTA 4 yet. There are thousands like us out there that haven’t. According to Associated Press, the launch of this game could be the most lucrative franchise in gaming history! Even more than last year’s, over hyped, Halo 3.

Anyhoo, the good guys over at Kotaku have assembled a list of 40 questions that needed answering straight off, and entertaining a lot more in the comments sections of the GTA 4 FAQ:

15. Do helicopters have weapons?
Some do. Good luck hitting anything with the mini-guns! You might have better luck taking out foes with the chopper’s blades.

28. Can you run police, fireman, or taxi extra missions in GTA IV?
You can take on police missions via the LCPD computer. There’s one in every cop car. You can earn taxi missions, but they’re handled through one of your friends. We haven’t seen any fireman missions, but we have taken the fire truck out for spin (and pedestrian hose-down).

34. How much does the phone tie into gameplay?
It ties in very heavily. Niko will use it to make and receive calls, remind him of appointments, take pictures, call cabs, phone in favors, and more. Need a cop car? Call 911, wait for the LCPD, then carjack it. The cell phone is also your entry point for accessing multiplayer games.

Unboxing GTA 4!

Posted by zEro on April 28th, 2008

Someone really lucky at Kotaku received his Grand Theft Auto 4 today and does us all a noble favor of recording it’s unboxing on a few still. What I made out of these is that it has a nifty box with a handle on top, and a few cool merchandise (like a key chain and a mat kinda thing?) and a few other goodies. Can’t wait for it to come on PC. Go enjoy the gallery here!

GTA4 will take about 100 hours to finish!

Rockstar, the creators of the GTA series have told Videogamer that the latest installment in the GTA series, the GTA 4, will take around 100hours to complete. Grand Theft Auto 4, Liberty city, who’s Official Website was announced only recently, is one of the most anticipated games of the Year 2008, with a lot of fan following, who (including me :D) keeping a close eye on every bit of information that they release.

Also the spokesperson from Rockstar gave an insight on one of the new features of the game, GTA 4’s main character, Niko Bellic phone. The phone is used to call computer-controlled characters, arrange drinking sessions, sort out dates and call in jobs around the city. It’ll also be the portal through which players will access GTA 4’s multiplayer, on which there is currently little info.

No Demo for GTA4

Posted by atof on February 29th, 2008

Rockstar have announced that there will be no official DEMO for the new installment in the GTA series, GTA4.

A Rockstar rep said that a demo “isn’t worth the time and effort”.

When asked if there will be a demo Rockstar replied: “I’m sure there won’t be. If there was we would have talked about it. With a game like this the guys at Rockstar North will want to spend every minute making the game look great. Most people know the concept of GTA anyway. I don’t know that the demo is worth the time and effort.”

He added: “Also much of GTA 4 is the driving around and we wouldn’t be able to give out the whole city. We would have to give away half the game for free. People would think Liberty City is a tiny city. You run into problems.”

Personally speaking, i don’t care whether there is a demo, just the full release of the game will definitely be worth it, especially after their outstanding job in GTA San Andreas.
