Impressive Nvidia Tegra Notebook Review [Video]

Posted by zEro on June 8th, 2009

Nvidia is aiming to release it’s own set of netbooks and they were up on display on Computex 2009 before officially going on sale. These netbooks can play 720p videos right off the internet for up to 4 to 5 hours. The Tegra notebook will be capable of using Nvidia gpu to render faster off the internet, but will have 512 mb RAM standard in all machines. The standard browser will be Firefox 3.5 and the buyer will have the option of having Android or Windows CE or dual both as a build option.

This interview features Gordon Grigor Director of Mobile Software at Nvidia (the software engineering lead in developing the Tegra solution!) Check out this awesome video interview right after the jump:

The New Apple MacBook is not clicking: It has issues!

Posted by zEro on November 2nd, 2008

As heretic as that may sound, lately I have been evangelizing the use of laptops, and have converted a few of my friends but not for gaming.

The hottest $h1t in the laptop market are Apple’s New Macbooks that have just come out a few weeks ago. But they are not without with their share of problems and issues.

As CrunchGear reports, Apple Macbooks are experiencing touch pad click failure 60% of the time! That is almost 50% of the clicks you make. It’s frustating enough because the touchpad does not have buttons and as a design tradition at Apple, the right click we have in PCs, they use the Command (?) button + mouse-click.

An official thread open at Apple’s Discussion forums discusses this very problem, and people are speculating what the problem might be.

Anyone else experiencing this same problem, if they got the New Macbook?

I Spy With My Little iSight!

Posted by zEro on May 11th, 2008

iSightA few days ago I did a story on how personal privacy and safety were being debated in the computer industry and just today I read an interesting piece on how the iSight for the MacBook actually helped someone recover their stolen laptop.

Before I go any further, I think the iSight coupled with the Back To My Mac remote computing software for MacBooks can be a perfect spy tool.

Anyways, so to cut a long story short, a woman who had her MacBook stolen logged into her Back To My Mac application and activated her iSight camera. She got what she wanted! The thief in the camera. The thieves were caught and the woman who wishes to remain nameless got her laptop back.

And in other news, the first Gear of War 2 footage is here.
