Impressive Nvidia Tegra Notebook Review [Video]
Nvidia is aiming to release it’s own set of netbooks and they were up on display on Computex 2009 before officially going on sale. These netbooks can play 720p videos right off the internet for up to 4 to 5 hours. The Tegra notebook will be capable of using Nvidia gpu to render faster off the internet, but will have 512 mb RAM standard in all machines. The standard browser will be Firefox 3.5 and the buyer will have the option of having Android or Windows CE or dual both as a build option.
This interview features Gordon Grigor Director of Mobile Software at Nvidia (the software engineering lead in developing the Tegra solution!) Check out this awesome video interview right after the jump:
Overheated Hard drive fix: Freeze that Hard drive!
My hard drive is 7 years old and I am still using it today, albeit as a back to my newer master hard drives. I have experienced some issue like overheated hard drive when I used it for longer spans as my main hard drive. This is a common problem faced by many a power user like me. One on expensive solution that does not involve any cash I tried was…
World of WarCraft Patch Repo!
Lately I fired up and installed my untouched copy of World of Warcraft bought from USA. It had been sitting in the closet due to some initial failures I incurred
But finally it installed, I created an account and logged on.
Lo and Behold, I had to download some 3 to 5 gibs of updates just to play the game. I knew that would happen… without regrets I started downloading via the patch downloaded bundled with the game.
It uses a dynamic hash table (DHT) mechanism to keep a track of IPs sharing the same content. Much akin to the bittorrent protocol. Anyways, given to the fact that I am in Pakistan and I couldn’t really find people downloading the same patch to leech from, I was getting no where near completion of the 500+ meg download.
I knew Blizzard wouldn’t leave their fans in a lurch and searched up where I could download patches via HTTP. Thankfully there was a huge repository of reliable hosts that was serving them. It was Blizzard support themselves that listed various mirrors to these patches. Without wasting a second, I started downloading them one by one.
If you are having trouble download patches, or sit behind a firewall, I suggest you try the following link: World of Warcraft Patch Mirrors.
Good luck, have fun!
Are you into dressing up and role playing?

Fans dressed up as Storm Troopers
Originating mostly from Japanese and far east media, cosplay involves intricate costume design, with accessories and make up which is mostly based entirely on fictional characters in video games and anime-universe. This art also involves designing and wearing props and weapons that appear with these characters!
Annual cosplay conventions are where people gather wearing their creations and showing them off to others. Famous themes are Manga, Anime, Video Games, Werewolves and Vampires, Comic book heroes, Star Wars, Star Trek, and fictional works of literature like Lord of the Rings. This cult is most popular amongst (video) gamers and comic book fans.

What just happened?
Well, we were just playing around with the blog and testing some new software with it. You might have noticed new posts in your RSS reader that have no links. That’s right, those were auto-generated posts and the software spat them out as is. Which was wrong! I do apologize for this mistake and bothering you with 7 ghost posts. The rest is all fine, we will keep posting here regularly

WCG 2008: Pakistan off to a Good Start!

Day 1 at World Cyber Games 2008 has ended and with some encouraging results from the WarCraft 3 department, currently being represented solely by Bilal Rasheed. Bilal is an accomplished user of the Night Elf race.
Bilal’s, Group D, group had his international teammate Kim from the Chinese Taipei, the Croat P1nke and the German underdog S.o.K.o.L. He managed to win 4 out of 6 games leading to a three way tie between him, P1nke, and S.o.K.o.L. But after the tie-breakers, it was S.o.K.o.L who won the second qualifying spot form the group.
Friends from all over the world praised Bilal’s performance in the tournament. This is for the first time that someone this young has accomplished something like this.
