In Video.

Awesome combos pulled off with various characters from Street Fighter HD Remix. And very difficult to execute!

Hah cool post. Interestingly most of this stuff wasn’t possible in the original SF2 Turbo. However, unlike original SF2 it would not get a wide play for any extended amount of time. SF2 was removed from Tougeki (Super Battle Opera) but still has it’s own yearly tournament. It probably doesn’t attract a large pool of players anymore but it’s still shocking to see a game that old still being played.

With this game one of the problems is that it’s on XBox Live. There was an interview done with VF players about its live play. They appreciated it very much because the game could be played without lag but they also admitted that many confirmed counters which would work in Arcade play didn’t work online. To put long story short when you run a fighting game online the game has to make some gameplay compromises to smooth out the lag.

Last but not the least this game will be overshadowed by SF4 which in turn has to compete with half dozen other excellent fighting games coming out.

p.s. David Sirlin is one of the people working on this game. He has a very well maintained (general) blog which you might wanna check out at http://www.sirlin.net/blog.

For a very sporadic and small community in Pakistan, online play is a must feature for any game we play, and get mentioned on this blog.

I know how badly games suffer when their taken from offline only to an online mode. But I guess the skills earned in online gameplay cannot be honed when playing offline. A slight trade off but fun.

Sirlin’s blog is awesome and so is his collection of tutorials and videos. Thanks for the link :)
