iPhone 3G: Still not available in Pakistan

After almost 4 months of the official release of iPhone 3G by Apple, there are no signs of it making it’s way, officially, or via Bhatinda to Pakistan.
The official iPhone website cites or makes no claim as such about their plan to release the product in Pakistan. However, rumor has it, that the iPhone might be available in Pakistani markets in a few weeks time.
Now I don’t really know how they intend to sell it when it’s not going to work on any connection they buy in Pakistan, but it still might suffice as a good mp3, photo sharing and organizing hand held.
The CNet reviewers call it an Excellent device, and says it delivers on it’s promise. iPhone is choc full of features and goodies like Global Positioning System (GPS), and support for enterprise features for products like Microsoft Exchange. The 3G platforms allows the iPhone to load pages and website faster than on the older iPhone.
The 8GB version is just under $200 ($199 to be exact). I would love to get my hands on it once it’s officially released in Pakistan and has a proper carrier. Till then, I am looking at other options like Nokia Music Xpress 5800 or a small netbook.
Do you have any idea when it might come to Pakistan, with an official carrier? Leave your ideas and opinions in the comments below.
