No Demo for GTA4

Rockstar have announced that there will be no official DEMO for the new installment in the GTA series, GTA4.
A Rockstar rep said that a demo “isn’t worth the time and effort”.
When asked if there will be a demo Rockstar replied: “I’m sure there won’t be. If there was we would have talked about it. With a game like this the guys at Rockstar North will want to spend every minute making the game look great. Most people know the concept of GTA anyway. I don’t know that the demo is worth the time and effort.”
He added: “Also much of GTA 4 is the driving around and we wouldn’t be able to give out the whole city. We would have to give away half the game for free. People would think Liberty City is a tiny city. You run into problems.”
Personally speaking, i don’t care whether there is a demo, just the full release of the game will definitely be worth it, especially after their outstanding job in GTA San Andreas.
So, let’s talk game dev. I think a playable teaser is the best kind of PR or marketing a product manufacturer could do. The demo must be out.
OK, they have problems, they can’t let the entire city out. Tells me that they are planning for a massive, open ended stage. Which is where they could actually make parts of the city lockable, like in the recent NFS series, and open a single area of the stage to the public.
The last GTA I played was ViceCity. And for one reason only I kept playing it. The Music! The reason I left it in the middle was repetitiveness.
