LAGAN: DotA and CounterStrike 1.6 Tournament at LUMS
In Counter-Strike 1.6, Defense of the Ancients, LAGAN 2008, LAN, Pakistan, Tournaments.
Rafey Majeed, a good friend of mine and a top level WarCraft 3 player from Islamabad has just informed me that Lahore University of Management Science (LUMS) is organizing a gaming tournament for DotA and CounterStrike 1.6! Woohoo! LUMS Annual Gaming Arcane Nationals, or LAGAN, will be held on the LUMS Campus.
As the representative for DotA tournament from the LUMS Computer Gaming Association (LCGA), he sent me their cool poster and event details. The prize money in total is Rs. 90,000! And coming on the dates of 28th, 29th and 30th March.
Prize Money for DotA and CounterStrike 1.6
1st Place: Rs. 30,000.
2nd Place: Rs. 15,000.
The DotA tournament would be a standard 5v5 game played on WC3 patch 1.21 and map 6.48b for DotA. The CS1.6 tourney would be the regular stuff, 5v5 on Nuke, Inferno, Dust2 and Train.

The best part about participating in their tournament is that your teammates can be from any academic institute of Pakistan. It does not matter if half of your team is from GIKI and half from LUMS, or some from Preston and some from Choifat, etc. You get my point. For both the events there will be only place for 20 teams - first come first serve. Important that you register before those slots end. Follow the link to the Registration page for more details!
