Grubby loses out of the NGL One Finals as squads are announced
NGL One is one of WarCraft 3 community’s very well known leagues in which teams from Europe compete online to qualify for the finals, which are being held this year in Berlin. The format of the matches is slightly different to other leagues, but equally interesting.
Four players from each team are announced against four of the other team. For each pair of opponents there is a head to head match and the winner gets to play the next opponent in line. The first team to eliminate all four of the other team’s players wins.
From March 22nd to 24th, four teams that have qualified and annouced their squads will battle it out in Berlin for a total of $16,000. The break down for three podium spots are,
1st Place: 10,000 $
2nd Place: 4,000 $
3rd Place: 2,000 $
The finalists are SK Gaming, MeetYourMakers, Mousesports, Mortal Teamwork that come in as a replacement for the disbanded Four Kings. The anti-climax of this all is the Grubby can’t play for MYM. As explained in a comment on SK Gaming, Grubby joined MYM too late to be included in the tournament, and therefore FoCuS will be moonlighting in his place.
Quoting the SK Gaming article that lists all player names that will be attending the finals are,
SK Gaming: Seo Woo “ReiGn” Kang, June “Lyn” Park, Kim Sung “ReMinD” Sik, Daniel “Miou” Holthuis, Lee Seong “SoJu” Deok
Meet Your Makers: Jae Ho “Moon” Jang, Jung Ki “Susiria” Oh, Jae Wook “Lucifer” Noh, Park “Shy” Chulwoo, Eom Hyo “Focus” Sub
